@joar@status.wandborg.se Talkatv looks really interesting, with some Salmon/OStatus-love on top of it it can get truly amazing – great job!

I’m happy to help – I implemented it at !Flattr and know it pretty well. Also – Skåne isn’t very far from Stockholm if you want IRL-help :)

Hop in #talkatv or #mediagoblin on Freenode anytime and I’ll try to copy that knowledge from you :)
-
Will do – feel free to mail me (pelle@kodfabrik.se) or so as well, I might have a hard time to be online much in the coming week or so
-
@cwebber I think it would be great if you could come to this. http://identi.ca/url/60612380

OK! You’re in. http://identi.ca/url/73761561
-
@joar that would be amazing! :)
-
By the way, I’m going!

@sikevux !talkatv That’s how I use it on http://wndb.org/2o [wandborg se]. For the non-js fallback you might need something along these lines: http://wndb.org/2p
-
Thx :D

Here’s the default CSS for !talkatv comments: http://wndb.org/2q – might be helpful.

I’d love to see [1-∞] contributors to !talkatv, as I’m currently kept busy by !mediagoblin stuff. I would love to see !talkatv progress and improve in any way. If you are interested, join #talka.tv on freenode or send me an email at joar [hex 40] talka [hex 2e] tv and I will try to tell you everything I know.

Hey, I’m the author of !talkatv :)

Threaded comments, markdown support now pushed to !talkatv main instance. See it in action at http://wndb.org/26

I didn’t know exclamation marks were accepted in URLs, the former link should be http://wndb.org/1C

I’m thinking about stripping <h.> tags from !talkatv comments, either that or encourage site owners to change the style for them inside #talkatv-comments http://wndb.org/25

Threaded comments development progress in !talkatv – http://wndb.org/1I (I’m on 3G network, have patience)
-
All right, I accidentally broke !talkatv in Chrom{e,ium} a few days ago I think. It’s fixed now.
-
Chromium issues CORS pre-flight OPTIONS requests, which don’t have any URI parameters. If you allow OPTIONS requests, but set URI params as mandatory [else return blank 400 w/o CORS response headers], Chromium will back out.

I will soon deploy preliminary notification support for !talkatv to http://wndb.org/1w, it has been on hold because of me needing to implement database migrations :)
-
Database migration in !talkatv is now working on my development instance thanks to @cwebber‘s awesome MediaGoblin migration codez!

I’m glad that turned out to be useful outside of mediagoblin!

I changed the license of the !talkatv main JS file to Apache License 2.0, I hope I’ve done it The Right Way #licensing http://wndb.org/1V /cc @cwebber
-
@cwebber ...licenses is sad. OTOH, licenses don’t matter, nothing has mattered since whatever 1st permissive license was, maybe GPLv1 :-)
-
(for clarity, I was saying maybe GPLv1 mattered, not that it was 1st permissive license. Was that early version of BSD, 1980?)
-
That’s true re: compatibility problems. I guess I don’t know much of the scope of what apache2 is incompatible with.
-
-
It seems my ISP blocks SMTP server traffic on my 3G dongle, luckily I can use the !talkatv SMTP server to test the email notification code.

@magicfab Yeah, might be a partial duplication of efforts, http://wndb.org/1Q is not originally thought to be used as a comment system for static pages, but @bkuhn has made very good use of it.
-
@magicfab Anyway, the duplication of efforts would be the OStatus work, and for !talkatv, that will be a common goal with !MediaGoblin to make a python OStatus lib, it’s called “kuneco”: http://wndb.org/1U
-
From now on, you can use a webfinger identity to log in with OpenID in !talkatv! http://wndb.org/1T

New month, new flattring season, feel free to !flattr !talkatv over at http://wndb.org/1R

!talkatv http://wndb.org/1w is now accessible by browsers without JavaScript. You’re not able to post comments yet though, despite so being advertised in the <noscript> tag.
- mmn likes this.
-
@csolisr That said. You’ll still be able to read (in the future, post) comments without the JavaScript, because of http://wndb.org/1N
-
@csolirs .. that is, as long as the site owner follows the guidelines in http://wndb.org/1O
-
Pushed support for in-app comment listings to !talkatv master: http://wndb.org/1G they may be used as fallbacks to non-js browsers, as described in http://wndb.org/1H
